James Ferguson
James is a physics welding programmer, applying his years of knowledge working in the health sector to the areas of bioinformatics and biohacking. With prize-winning hackathon experience, James brings knowledge and experience to the world of hacking health. His track record includes competing in Hackagong, HealthHack and GEHack events in 2015, placing 3rd in HealthHack for coming up with an algorithm to improve the BWA tool for sequence alignment. This lead to further research opportunities in bioinformatics with the Garvan Institute of Medical Research and networking opportunities to work on other interesting projects, such as LAMP Diagnostics, building a rapid point of care STI testing kit. |
